About Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust
Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust (CRAMT) is a not-for-profit organization based in Township, Lahore, and was established in 1976 under the Trust Act of 1882. The Trust is committed to providing quality healthcare, education and religious studies to the poor and under-privileged groups within our society. The Trust was founded in the revered memory of Chaudhry Rahmat Ali, an eminent leader of the Pakistan Movement, who was the person who envisioned the name “Pakistan” for our country.
CRAMT was founded by the late Prof. Dr. S. M. K. Wasti and a group of social entrepreneurs who were his colleagues. Prof. Wasti was a pediatrician by profession and, therefore, due to his dedication to providing maternal, child and family health services in Pakistan, he has been referred to as the “Father of Pediatrics” in Pakistan.

Trust Registration and certifications
- Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust is duly registered with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC), the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and other relevant government regulatory authorities.
- All donations to the Trust are tax-exempt under Section 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
- The Trust is also recognized as Shariah-compliant, supervised and certified by a Shariah Advisory Entity, ensuring all financial activities remain aligned with Islamic principles.
- Donations and funds are managed through a well-defined and transparent financial system, with annual accounts audited by one of the top 15 audit firms in Pakistan, reflecting our commitment to accountability and good governance.
